A place where you
stay a while
Coffee Fellows started in 1999 in Munich with a simple idea: a coffee house where you do not just pick up your coffee, but where you stay. No plastic chairs and no rush, but comfortable sofas, a table you can work at and someone who makes your coffee by hand.
That idea turned out to travel. Today we are in nine European countries, and for a few years now in the Netherlands too — from Operaplein in Apeldoorn to Sugarcity in Halfweg. Still a family business, with short lines and fair agreements.
What is the same everywhere: the coffee, the bagels and the feeling of walking into someone's home rather than a chain.

From the farmer, not the exchange
Good coffee needs good beans, and you will not find those in a wholesale catalogue. Our beans are bought to certified standards, with a chain you can follow from farmer to roastery. So we know exactly what is in the bag and where it came from.
After that it is handwork. Every cappuccino, flat white and latte macchiato is made the moment you order it, by a barista trained to do it.
Soft inside, warm outside
Our bagels are steamed at the bakery instead of baked dry. That sounds like a detail, but it is exactly where the difference lies: the dough stays soft and springy rather than crusty. In the shop every bagel then goes briefly into the toaster — only once you order it, around 45 seconds at 220 degrees. Warm outside, soft inside.
Around that we keep building: pumpkin bagel with avocado and hummus, multigrain bagel with salmon and honey-mustard cream, pretzel bagel with pulled pastrami and cucumber relish. And if you would rather have something warm: paninis, ciabattas and a ham and cheese toastie.

In their own words
“A characterful café with room to work but also to properly relax — a recommendation for anyone looking for that feeling of home while travelling.”
Lorena Ortega“The bagels at Coffee Fellows have a unique flavour and are certainly worth repeating. A fine spot for my daily lunch.”
Wouter de Boer“With the vegetarian options there is something for everyone, and combined with the lovely sweet things there is a reason to walk in at any time of day.”

We do not pretend to have arrived. This is what is happening now — and the sustainability page also says where we cannot yet say anything.

Less disposable
At several locations you can take your coffee in a deposit cup. Bringing your own cup is always welcome.
Nothing thrown away
Whatever is left at the end of the day goes out through Too Good To Go instead of into the bin.
